Mitch Chang - Workshop

Jump In The Jam! : Intermediate

April 9- Mitch Chang- 3:30pm  5:30pm

Do you want to be able to figure out songs in minutes, not days? Tired of noodling around with 100 chords trying to guess that one part? Have you ever wondered how some people are able to effortlessly jump in on any jam, even if they’ve never heard the song before? Then you need this class! Topics covered in this two-hour workshop include the concept of tension and release, cadences, transposition & more. Sound complicated? If you can count from 1-12 and know your alphabet from A to G you've already got a headstart! This is an advanced-beginner/intermediate level class but all that means is you are able to strum a steady rhythm while playing through the basic chords without pause (A, Am, A7, Bm, B7, C, C7, D, Dm, E, Em, E7, F, G, and G7).

You’ll leave this 2 hour class with a nuts-and-bolts understanding of how music works and practical information you can put to use right away to impress your friends & family, write songs, and get more enjoyment out of playing the ukulele with others or on your own.

No video recording please.

Mitch has been teaching 'ukulele for many years, and is known for his YouTube lessons. He also runs the Southern California Slack Key Festival and the L.A. International 'Ukulele Festival
